Description

Omaya eco-village is like something out of a fairy tale. Seven charming houses built entirely out of clay, stone and wood, two ponds sparkling playfully nearby, the warm sun-rays shining through the lush forest –
it’s a dream given form. Immerse yourself in a woodland fantasy on a weekend of relaxation, tranquility, pristine nature and clean air. Enjoy some fishing, foraging for mushrooms, sunbathing by the pond, or explore the many eco-trails in the area. The eco-village has two restaurants, and the houses are equipped with all the amenities and comforts of the modern world.

The rural villages in the area have their own rustic charm and a rich history and culture that spans centuries. Leshten is an architectural reserve known for its authentic and well-preserved houses. Their stone-tiled sloped roofs are their most recognizable characteristic, and the narrow streets and the traditional Bulgarian pub allow you to immerse yourself completely in the atmosphere of the Southern Rhodopes.

Leshten and Kovachevitsa are situated on high ground and offer a stunning view of the surrounding landscape. Dolen is the heir of the ancient neighborhoods of a Thracian settlement, theremains of which can be found throughout the village to this day. The hills are strewn with necropolises, and the Thracian vineyards still stand and were even in use up until the latter half of the Bulgarian National Revival Period. This village is an architectural reserve as well as the site of numerous archeological findings.

The Kovachevitsa historical and architectural reserve has retained its authentic 18-19th century look, with houses almost entirely built out of stone. Near it lies the Tamna Gora (Dark forest) natural reserve, home
to centuries-old fir, beech and spruce forests.

On the way back from Kovachevitsa and Leshten, you have the chance to try out the Miroto outdoor mineral water pool in Ognyanovo.
