Description

First day: Sofia - Panichishte (100km / 1.40 hours)

By transfer we reach the highest mountain in Europe - Rila and the small resort Panichishte - the starting point for the famous Seven Rila Lakes trail.

Second day: Seven Lakes hut (2200m) - Vazov Peak (2670m) - Mount Malyovitsa (2729m) - Malyovitsa Chalet (1950m)

The morning starts with a short ride on the chair lift to the area of the Seven Rila Lakes. From the upper lift station will start a moderately steep path to Lake Kidney, followed by the Eye and the Tear. Throughout the walk you can enjoy the views in all directions. Climb to Razdella Saddle and to the nearby peak Vazov / Damga (2670) where you can see the great scenery of Urdini Lakes and their deep valley, which will be bypassed on the ridge to the south and east. With a short descent and climb, we reach Dodov peak (2661m) and continue along the ridge to Mount Malyovitsa. To the left you will be able to see the great view of Urdini lakes, to the right - the Rila Monastery and all of Rila. After a nearly equal section of the ridge starts a moderate climb on the slope of Mount Malyovitsa from where we will be able to see stunning scenery. We will be going to Yastrebets hut by lift.

Third day:

Today we will climb to the highest mountain peak on the Balkan Peninsula: Musala (2925 m). The cabin lift takes us to the starting point of the route. Musala's jagged wall accompanies us when climbing the wall stone. The true breathtaking view from the top to the mountains everywhere is a well-deserved goal of the whole adventure. As a reward you will enjoy a cup of herbal tea for relaxation, looking at the tops of all the great mountain ranges in Bulgaria - Balkan, Sredna Gora, Vitosha, the Rhodopes, Pirin and, of course, Rila. We return the same way and after we cross the downhill with the lift our car will be waiting to take us to Sofia.
